REV’IT! at Bike Shed London 2018: Bring us back!

With seven shows under our belt, the Bike Shed event has been fixed in our calendar for a few years now. With expectations set higher every year – largely in part because of the “bigger and better” gospel – The Bike Shed has, once more, measured up to its motto. You’d think exceeding expectations would get harder each year. You’d think… But 2018, however, has done two things: one, it has surpassed expectations by a country mile and two, it has set the bar higher. Much higher. Again.

We won’t get into too many details about how it all got started for us, as you can have a read here to catch up with the history between REV’IT! and The Bike Shed. Instead we’ll take you back to Bike Shed London 2018, and aside from some highlights, we’ll let the imagery speak for itself.

a note from
the man himself

When he started his Bike Shed blog at the early stages of this decennium, Anthony “Dutch” Van Someren did not expect things to escalate the way they did. But with his dedication, he drew a lot of attention. And he certainly got ours.

About this page

Even while the whole scene was exploding around him – it grew exponentially within a very short period of time - we still work together the same way we did when The Bike Shed was in its infancy; with a solid relationship remaining as the base of our partnership. We’ll let Dutch do the talking on where we stand today together.

“It's been five years since we first met the team at REV'IT! when we started the Bike Shed London shows in a small pair of arches in Shoreditch. Five years and nine shows on, and REV'IT! is still our partner, and this year we're really pleased that they are a Co-Headline sponsor.

We've grown up together in the new wave café custom scene, both with a focus on doing the best possible job we can, for our customers, our events, and our products, but what we really love is the REV'IT! team's passion for everything on two wheels. That’s from our custom/café scene through to their adventure, street and MotoGP support. They really do love biking as much as we do - and they are a great bunch of people, too. We look forward to working with REV'IT! side-by-side by for many years to come.”

the revmonkee canvas

As it has already made an appearance - its debut actually - at last year’s Bike Shed event, we couldn’t just bring our beloved REVmonkee again in its original form. Adding to the creative nature of the event, we decided to let artist Sven Signe den Hartogh have a go at playing with the esthetics. Purists needn’t worry; the Washi Tape we used is easily removable so underneath the funky colors our REVmonkee resides in its full glory.
