Safety seams have a visible as well as an invisible seam. This construction keeps the material of the outer shell together, even when the visible seam is thorn.

For my first jacket I was not sure what I wanted. Lots of textile jackets are really functional, but they can look a bit "ambitious" if you're just cruising around town or on the back roads. Leather jackets might look a bit "biker-y". I was trying on different jackets and stumbled across the Ignition. And it all made sense. It's ventilated and will work great on really warm days, but still protect you much better than an overshirt or armored hoodie. It works well in pouring rain and in cold scandinavian spring temperatures. I rode a few hours on my naked bike in +2c weather, with just a "wifebeater" and a solid longsleeved sweatshirt (and my Revit Philly jeans!) - and I didn't even use the thermal liner that comes with the jacket. Didn't need it. And it just looks awesome - it's a leather jacket, but it's still "technical" looking. It doesn't tick any box perfectly, but it ticks practically all the boxes very very well. I don't need another jacket, as long as I'm not going on a long dusty adventure with a tent strapped to the back. Best of all, it's not "too big round the middle" but will actually look great if you're still keeping in shape a little, despite being past 40 :)
