Before a designer starts up the creative process, he or she often has a picture in his head of the intended customer, what bike he rides and where he rides it. In this case, inspiration came from a different angle. When we introduced our first Cordura® denim overshirts and jackets, the Intercept rapidly became one of the most popular styles. It’s a jacket that users wear both on and off the bike, all year round, except for summer, as it has a fixed thermal liner. Users also particularly loved the knitted cuffs, collar and waist as it keeps the wind out when things get a bit chillier. So, when the new PWR|mesh fabric finally became available to the design department, the team created a summer/warm weather version of the Intercept in just a couple of minutes. At least, that’s what they claim. But we think it took a bit longer than that!
