What can you expect from us?

In stepping into the role, we already have the resources you need to carry the tasks out. Massive amounts of sensory data from the track will be available to you so you can understand crashes and near misses, develop airbag models, and create and maintain the algorithm that will control the airbag.

We value every member of our staff but your expertise in particular is incredibly valuable to us. We’re always trying to improve things for motorcycle riders, and develop innovations that ultimately move the whole industry forward.

You’ll also have the support of our senior data scientist who you’ll work with closely as you help us to continuously innovate.


What does this mean in practice?

As a Data Scientist at REV’IT!, you’ll work with our on-track team to process data, with the Research and Innovation department to analyze the data, and with a remote team to improve hardware.

Based on sensor data from the track, you’ll develop a triggering algorithm on a microcomputer to deploy the airbag integrated into our protective gear.

Your job will include:

  • Extracting quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Transforming raw data into an optimized, structured format.
  • Analyzing data to identify crashes, near misses, and other anomalies
  • Creating visualizations to make the data workable and understandable.
  • Creating and maintaining a high-quality data pipeline.
  • Designing, training, and implementing several models to operate the airbag.
  • Staying on top of developments in the world of business intelligence and data.

This is a full-time position (40 hours per week, 32 hours negotiable). You’ll report to the Supply Chain & IT Director.


Are you our ideal candidate?

This is a full-time position (40 hours per week, 32 hours negotiable). You’ll report to the Supply Chain & IT Director.

We expect:

  • A university degree in a relevant field, such as Computer Science, Physics, Engineering, or Statistics.
  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years of software development experience.
  • Experience working with Python and C/C++, or another systems programming languages.
  • Data science or statistics experience, working with Pandas, Matlab, R, Stata, SAS, or similar.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • A proven ability to learn new technical skills quickly.
  • Experience with time series analysis: frequency domain analysis, Fourier transforms, Kalman filters, and PCA.
  • Experience with modern machine learning methods, such as deep neural networks, decision trees, using PyTorch, CatBoost, or similar.
  • Advantageous: Experience with IOT/streaming data pipelines solution development.
  • Advantageous: Experience deploying dashboards and self-service analytics solutions on both relational and non-relational databases.
  • Advantageous: Knowledge of electronics, firmware development, embedded systems, DSP, digital sensors or other relevant IoT skills.
  • Advantageous: Experience with analysis of large data sets.
  • Advantageous: Delivered data management projects with real-time/near real-time data insights delivery on Azure Cloud.
