Meet REV'IT! Rider Álvaro Bautista! The Spanish motorcycle racer has won the 2022 Superbike World Championship.

The son of a motorcycle repair shop owner, Álvaro Bautista got on his first bike – built by his father Javier himself – when the Talavera de la Reina resident was only three years old and started racing when he was eight and started winning not long after.

Since his debut in the 125cc class in the Grand Prix in 2002, Bautista claimed the 125cc World Title in 2006, became a fan-favorite in the 250cc class, and moved up to MotoGP in 2010 to compete as a factory rider for subsequently Suzuki, Aprilia, and Ducati. The Spaniard was in the mix of the premier class of Grand Prix motorcycle racing for almost ten years before he was offered a works ride aboard the Ducati in World Superbikes.

Hitting the ground running in the production-based race series in 2019, Bautista shocked friend and foe and decimated the competition in the first half of the season, eventually still losing out on the title, after which he took on a new challenge for the Honda factory team. After a two-year struggle with the HRC squad came to a close, Bautista returned to Ducati and to his winning ways – finishing where he started to crown himself the 2022 Superbike World Champion at long last and to defend his World Championship title valiantly to become back-to-back World Champion in 2023.
