REV’IT! Rider Augusto Fernandez

Looking Back, Looking Ahead

We would like to take a moment to look back, but even more so, to look ahead to the new motorsport season. Our lineup is as promising as ever and we’re happy to run you through our mix of familiar and new faces as we present to you: Augusto Fernandez.
Moto2 – Marc VDS TeamAugusto Fernandez

Last year, Augusto joined the Marc VDS Team; a team that embraced him and his goals along with his manager, his father, at his side. Though it was probably not the season that he had envisioned for himself; with a few hurdles along the way. That said, he was able to recover from a successful arm pump surgery right after the race in Aragon.

A broken toe after his first race in Valencia didn’t help things as he wasn’t able to participate in round 13. While these setbacks caused him some pain and discomfort, he still had success. With six finishes in the top eight, and a best finish of fourth, the Spanish rider can look back on an eventful season.

Looking Back

Augusto recalls, “Last season was really a tough season for everyone. Not only because of COVID-19, but also in terms of the results. To be honest, I am not very happy with the end result.”

He adds, “The goals we set at the beginning of the season were a lot higher and we did not achieve any of them.”

Looking Ahead

Failure to meet previous goals often leads to rethinking what the future’s objectives are, and realistic they should be. But with Augusto and the Marc VDS Team, this remains the same for this season. “We will do everything in our power to be back fighting for the top again at every race, and to fight for the championship!”

He adds, “If anything, this season made us stronger and I am really looking forward to start again together with the Marc VDS Team and my new Crew Chief.”
