Cooling Vest Insert ChallengerFAR038 1 Review
Once saturated with water the Challenger vest’s natural cooling properties are activated simply by opening your jacket’s ventilation features and exposing the charged vest to passing airflow. Once activated, the Challenger cooling vest helps riders maintain a comfortable body temperature and, ultimately, stay in better control. The Challenger can be zipped directly into select REV’IT! jackets for a clean, integrated fit—effectively amplifying a jacket’s existing airflow for up to six hours.
User instructions Cooling products with HyperKewl™ Before the first use, please dunk the product under water, gently squeeze out the excess water and let the product dry completely. This is necessary for the cooling fibers to set into the product.
Please note, the product could feel 'slimy' because of the fiber migration after the first activation. This rinses away on the next soaking.

HyperKewl™ technology works by absorbing water into a proprietary polymer, which is stored between a water-resistant inner liner and ventilated outer fabric. Once air begins to flow through the piece the natural endothermic reaction that accompanies the evaporative process creates a cooling sensation for the wearer. Mimicking the skin’s natural cooling process—sweating—HyperKewl™ helps sap away excess body heat and stave off fatigue.

I had concerns about the weight of the vest when it absorbs water. They were unfounded, the weight is quite alright. I used the vest with the Chronos Jacket and for me it doesn't work. I ride at city speeds in a central Europe summer. 30-35-40 Celsius. The first 10 minutes when the vest is cold from the tap water are nice, after that all it does is making you feel warm and moist. Also the water gets warm from your body and the environment. Water has quite a lot of thermal inertia so the short bursts of speed do very little to cool the vest. I need cooling in the city, on the highway I frankly don't need the vest...
On the positive side, the vest appears to be well made, and reasonably priced with quality workmanship unlike my Chronos jacket.
